Order matters, so pairs come first
A phone number is a sequence, not a bag of digits. Numerology treats it that way: the digits are read two at a time, in the order they appear, and each pair is interpreted as a unit. The pair 78 is not the same influence as 7 and 8 considered separately, and it sits in a particular place in the sequence.
This is why two numbers with the same total can read very differently. The total flattens the sequence; the pairs preserve it.
Repetition is weight
When the same pair appears several times in one number, its influence is amplified rather than repeated. A single difficult pair in the middle of an otherwise supportive number is a note of caution. The same pair appearing three times is the defining feature of that number, and it is the situation where a remedy is genuinely worth considering.
Zeros are handled before anything is read
Zero cannot be read as a pair member in the ordinary way, so it is resolved first, using one fixed rule. The result is what Astruza calls your effective number, and every pair is taken from that. The published example is 91000783, which is read as 91111783, giving the pairs 91, 11, 11, 11, 17, 78 and 83 — three identical pairs that would be invisible if you only looked at the original digits.

The Mobile Compound Number is the total before it is reduced. The Mobile Total or Root Number is that total reduced to a single digit. The compound number carries the texture; the root number carries the direction. They are read together, and neither replaces the pair reading.
What this reading is not
Your mobile compound number is not your Chaldean name compound number, even though both use the word compound. Your phone number does not change your Moolank or Bhagyank, which come from your date of birth. Keeping these separate is most of what it takes to read numerology carefully rather than superstitiously.
A number describes a tendency you are carrying around. It does not describe a fate you cannot influence.
